Information on Christenings, Weddings & Funerals

You are warmly welcomed to celebrate with us those life events of Christenings and weddings.  And even at the end of life, we are here to support you and help you say your goodbyes to those you love.

Enquires about a Christening or a Wedding

The best way to start the conversation about a wedding or a christening for a baby is to join us at church on a Sunday morning.  The 9am is perfect for those who like calm and dignified worship.  The 1030am is great for those with children, or who like some energy and participation.  You're welcome to fill out the form below.

Christenings.

Giving thanks for the gift of life!

A Christening (or Baptism) is the first step of an amazing journey with God, parents, godparents, friends, family and the church.  We love them!

You don't have to have been christened yourself, and you don't have to have been a regular churchgoer either.

For more information on how to arrange yours, fill in the enquiry form above, and we'll get in touch with you as soon as possible.

Christenings happen on the second Sunday of the month, and we do restrict it to one family per service, so do get in touch to start the process.

Confirmation.

"Confirm, O Lord, your servant with your Holy Spirit."

Amen!

Confirmation is a special church service in which a person confirms the promises that were made when they were baptized. If you were baptized at a christening when you were a child, your parents and godparents made these promises on your behalf.

As a young person or adult, you may be ready to affirm these promises for yourself and commit your life to following Jesus Christ. At a confirmation service, you make these promises for yourself. Your friends and family as well as the local Christian community will be there to promise to support and pray for you.

The Bishop of Kirkstall will lay their hands on your head and ask God’s Holy Spirit to give you the strength and commitment to live God’s way for the rest of your life.

For more information, fill in the form above, and we'll get in touch with you as soon as possible.

Wedding Day

Weddings

We'd love you to get married here!

Make your day truly unique & special.

You don't have to come to church to get married in church (you need to be 'connected' but we can explore that with you or head here), and you won't be asked loads of questions about you do, or maybe don't know, about faith.

Our church is a special and unique place to get married in - the prayers, promises and the whole service of celebration become part of your marriage, on the day itself and beyond.

For more information, please fill in the form at the top of this page.

Funerals

Supporting you through even the hardest of times.

We’ll always be here to help you through one of life’s most difficult times. A Church of England funeral is available to everyone, giving support before, during and after the service, for as long as it’s needed.

It's always a privilege to take a funeral - whether it leans towards a celebration for someone you deeply love or miss, or for where the relationship was a little bit more complex - we're here to guide you through it and ensure that it is dignified and caring.

For more information, please fill in the form at the top of this page.
